About UsD&I, Inc Home Inspectors, has two inspectors both are S.C. Licensed Home inspectors and South Carolina Licensed General Contractors. The owner is Larry David with his partner, Joey David. Yes they are related. Joey is Larry's dad. That's where Larry got the name, see D&I stands for "Dad & I". ![]() Larry David: Larry is a third generation contractor. His first job in the industry
was as a layout assistant on an eight story hotel during the summer
at age 13. He worked on different projects every summer & holiday
learning carpentry, welding and heavy equipment operation until
he completed Trident Tech Collage in Construction Science and Civil
Engineering (1992). After college, Larry went to work for his father's
Pile Driving and General Contracting firm. Beginning as a labor
on a pile driving crew, he quickly moved up the ladder to foreman,
next a superintendent, then to a project manager. Larry managed
projects from simple concrete slabs, to pile installation, heavy
structural concrete and turnkey projects such as custom homes and
office buildings. The largest project, Larry is extremely proud
of, he was the head project manager for the foundation project
of the Nucor Steel Berkeley Plant, Huger, S.C., for five
very busy years.
Joey also began his construction career very early. He has a photo
in his office showing him holding a set of blue prints, on one
of his father’s sites, at age five. Joey assisted his father
in his large home building company in the Hanahan, SC area. After
high school, Joey attended Trident Tech Collage, Charleston, SC
for construction science. Over the years, he worked for many large
companies building everything from hotels to steel mills. In 1989,
he stepped out and opened his own contracting firm. He started
with one pile driving crew and over the next twelve years he grew
into a large General Contractor with pile driving and water & sewer
utility divisions. Joey and his son, Larry, were constantly asked
for their professional opinions because of their diverse backgrounds
in the industry. Joey picked up a nickname given to him by some
engineers he has worked with as the "foundation guru".
He supported Larry in opening his business and proudly has since
joined him in the home inspection industry.
